The Australasian Institute for Genital Autonomy is one of many advocacy groups world-wide seeking an end to non-therapeutic genital surgery on children. GA groups can be found in the United Kingdom, Finland (Project INTACT), Canada and Germany.
In 2012, for the first time, a court explicitly granted boys the right to genital self-determination, and this decision has since become a worldwide symbol for the self-determination of children regardless of gender, ancestry or religion.
